Obituary of Barbara Watkins

On Monday September 6, 2010 at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Charles W. Watkins; her daughters, Dodie (Stephen) Fuller and Nancy (Rick) Wolfe; grandchildren, Will & Emilia and Elyse & Amanda; great grandson, Ayden; siblings, Carol Oehlbeck and Richard Goodwin. Barbara will always be remembered by her family for her love of her children, grandchildren and great grandson, siblings and especially her nieces & nephews, who cherished their aunt. How lucky was she? Barb will also be remembered for her 45 years as a member of Spencerport United Methodist Church including her Lunch Bunch friends, Ferris Goodridge Ladies Auxiliary Unit 330, her involvement with various shelters where she donated her time to deliver clothes, love of reading and membership with the Hilton Book Guild and Ogden Book Club, her employment with the Ogden Highway Dept., as an Administrative Assistant. How she always took credit for her garden, but never mentioned (according to her husband Charles) it was not her but her but his hard work that was to be given credit. Honorable mention would include her love of music, traveling with Charles, going out to dinner and talking on the phone. Last but not least, Barbara will always be remembered for her valiant and courageous battle with Cancer for the past 12 years. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service (No Prior Calling) on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Spencerport United Methodist Church 32 Amity Street Spencerport, NY 14559.
