Obituary of Clara F. Manteca

Clara Manteca, formerly of Newton, MA, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on October 30, 2018 surrounded by loving family. Predeceased by brother Louis Manteca. Survived by loving sister Gloria Charnley; nephews Michael Charnley and Thomas Charnley and their families; nieces Sandy Manteca Swartz and Diane Manteca. 

Clara was born in 1933 to Antonio and Francesca Manteca. Her passions included teaching history at King Philip Regional High School, painting and spending time with her beloved family and loyal friends. She was especially fond of her grand-nieces and nephews who were the light of her life. Clara loved to laugh as she shared stories about her childhood, family and friends. She was very generous to all. Clara enjoyed a well-earned retirement on Cape Cod.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10 at 1pm, Newton Cemetery Chapel 791 Walnut Street, Newton Centre, MA 02459. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to Boston Children’s Hospital or Toys for Tots.
