Obituary of Bernard C. Cubitt
SPENCERPORT - Bernard entered into rest Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 94. Predeceased by his wives Thelma Belcher Cubitt in 1969 and Inda Drexler Cubitt in 2014. He is also predeceased by his parents Michael and Doris Cubitt and his sister Margaret Cubitt Lemmens. Bernard is survived by three brothers Glen (Eileen) Cubitt of Pittsford, Raymond (Marilynn) Cubitt of Spencerport and Robert (Joanne) Cubitt of Florida. He is survived by one sister Sylvia Cubitt Webster of N.C. and by a stepson Allan (Barbara) Belcher, three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bernard was a very talented artist, musician and gardener. He was a member of the National Railroad Historical Society, a Charter Member of the Ogden Historical Society, the National Covered Bridge society, a veteran of WWII Air Force and a member of Pearce Memorial Church. He was also a Charter member of the Ogden Historical Society. He spearheaded the restoration project of the Trolley Depot Museum on the Erie Canal in the village of Spencerport. Memorials will be welcomed if sent to the Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum, 16 East Avenue, Spencerport NY 14559. Funeral services for Bernie will be private as per his request.
