Ted grew up in Brockport, NY with his parents Gene & Mary Jane Walker and sibling, Nancy, and Eric, George and Clay were like brothers. He rode bikes and horses on the family farm, with his neighbors the Scholands. Ted also built model cars and loved the Erecter set. Ted went on to become an Eagle Scout and had an interest in cars, not just driving them but the mechanics of them.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from RIT, and used that knowledge to obtain a position at Eastman Kodak.
Shery met Ted through carpooling with Ted’s father which lead to getting married at the White Church in Spencerport, 47 years ago he married Shery (Sheldon) Walker his best friend.
Ted and Shery had 3 daughters, Michelle, Melinda & Moira. He somehow survived living in a house of 4 females; they are a very close knit family filled with loving, crazy personalities. The family includes his wife, 3 daughters, 20 grandchildren (human and animal variety), father, sister in laws and many nieces & nephews.
Ted was the Mayor of Spencerport for 10 years, Commodore of the Brockport Yacht Club also he volunteered on the Committee for Christmas on the Canal for 21 years and was a Member of the Uncas Road Construction Company. He cared a great deal about the town of Spencerport and was very much a part of it.
He loved to spend time sailing on Lake Ontario, Ted enjoyed traveling in their camper seeing the United States. He went to the Adirondack Mountains to relax, but most of all playing with family and lifetime friends was his most favorite.
Ted was a warm, caring and an unselfish man, always lived by Eagle Scout values. He always was looking outward and helping others. Ted would measure 50 times and cut once, he was very detail oriented, at times to a fault!
