Hilton: On Monday, February 15, 2016 at age 90, Loretta "Nikki" passed away peacefully with her three daughters by her side. Nikki was born in Rochester, NY on October 20, 1925, the daughter of Vincenzo and Julia P. Velieri. Nikki was predeceased by sisters, Rose (Fred) Romano and Anne Piacentini; brothers, Al Velieri and Nino Vileria. Survived by her daughters, Marjorie (Ernie) Packard, Carolyn (Eric) Halloran and Lori Gregory; cherished grandchildren, Steven (Daria) Markham, Scott Markham, Eric "Rick" Markham and Jason (Brooke) Markham, Kelly Halloran and Eric "Ricky" Halloran; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Finn, Taylor and Kyle; several nieces and nephews and family in Italy. "We'll all be ok because of what she gave us...each other. " The family thanks the wonderful staff at Wedgewood Nursing Facility in Spencerport for their compassionate and loving care of her.

Nikki attended Madison High School and graduated in the class of 1943. She worked as a switchboard operator for many years at Fasco Industries, and at Case Hoyt Corporation retiring in 1991. She also worked at the Rochester War Memorial and Red Wing Stadium managing food stands. Nikki loved her special spot at Vine Valley Park on Canandaigua Lake; a place that she held dear in her heart which also became dear to her daughters and grandchildren. She loved doing crossword puzzles, reading, word games, playing cards with family and friends, and watching sports. She loved music, singing, drawing and art; having painted the sets for her high school plays. She had a quick and funny wit, a joyful presence and sharing laughter.
