As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Colette. Colette was born in 1959 in Japan. In her younger years, her family traveled extensively around the world for her father's work so she and her brother Marc had a very colorful passport! Colette attended high school in Springfield, VA and she attended college at Old Dominion University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Colette was proud of her father's civil service career so she followed in his footsteps and she worked around the world as a dedicated public servant and gained a wide array of life-long friendships. Colette married Charles (Chuck) Colby in 1993 and moved to Spencerport, NY. She adjusted to farming life and developed many close relationships with the Colby family and new friends. Colette embraced her role as mother to Chad and Camille. She was devoted to them, and she and Chuck were active in all aspects of their lives. She provided sound guidance and wisdom throughout their years growing up, and was especially proud of them as they grew into adulthood, graduated this summer, and started their college lives. Colette cherished her entire family: Chuck, Chad and Camille; mother Patricia, brother Marc and his wife and children, stepmother Barbara, and several aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved father Tom and Auntie Consie. She had friends from around the world from her early career years, from college, from her time in Washington, DC, and from the Spencerport community. She was adventurous and fun-loving, a patriot, devoted to her family, and a careful and thoughtful friend. She touched many lives and will live in our hearts forever.
