Christine (Matheos) Short "Chris" Spencerport: June 20,2015 at age 82. Predeceased by her parents; brother, Gus; sister, Elaine; brother, Charlie. Survived by her husband, Elliott Short; children, Sandra (Vince)Short-Bartlett, M.D., George E. (Hilary) Short lll, Matthew C. Short; 4 grandchildren, Lindsay Short, Matthew Short Jr., Vincent Bartlett, Kathryn Short; sister-in-law, Patricia Kluge; nieces & nephews, Steve & Maria DeMallie, Mary Ann & Ken Sylvester, Chris Matheos, Cleo Matheos; several cousins. Chris died in Mission Viejo, CA of Alzheimer's. She is the last surviving member of the Chris Matheos (Cleopatra) family owners of Matheos Brothers Ice Cream Company. No Prior Visitation. Chris's memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, at 10 AM at the funeral home, 15 West Ave., Spencerport. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620 in Chris's memory. Christine was born on February 2, 1933 to Cristos and Cleopatra Matheos and she grew up in Spencerport. Family and friends called her "Tina". Christine was a good student. She spoke Greek before English and was accomplished piano player. Once Christine graduated from high school she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and then graduated with a B.S. Degree from the University of Illinois. On September 22, 1956 Christine and Elliott married in the Greek Church of The Annuncition. They enjoyed traveling to Greece, Egypt, Israel, Mexico with her sister, Elaine and friend, Bev Proper. They also went to Spain, France, Canada. They enjoyed their golf vacations. Christine became accomplished in water-color paintings, loved to golf and played at several country clubs including, Salmon Creek, Stafford, BrookLea and Labomar Country Club in Florida. Friends and family would best describe Christine as generally cheerful, optimistic, kind, generous, unselfish, forgiving, sweet, easy to get along with, loved by family, loved and admired by friends. She had special love from caregivers in her final years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
