Obituary of George Brege
Colonel George L. Brege lived a full, and rich life. COL Brege, 85, a veteran of many 391st Regiment and 98th Division assignments, passed away on April 8, 2015 in Unity Hospital, Rochester NY. The Colonel as he was known to friends and family was born and raised in Medina, New York. George was married for 47 years Florence Margaret Brege until her death in 1997 and is precede in death by his 2 sisters, Delores Kimmick, Irlavere Brege. He is survived by his second wife, Mary Brege ; son, Mark George Brege ,daughter , Martha Brege ; granddaughters, Shannon Marie Mortimer, and Elise Nicole Brege ; 2 great grandsons, Liam and Noah; brother, Bruce Brege. George was a Graduate of Empire State College with a major in chemistry. He worked at Eastman Kodak for 32 years with a career as a Micro Contamination Engineer. His military career spanned over 35 years. A decorated marksman, he had a passion for the army that continued into his retirement. Active as a Freemason at the Brockport Lodge and within the Spencerport community, George was known for his zest and vitality for life and his love and commitment to his family and friends. He touched the lives of many people and will be missed and remembered with love, honor and respect.
A grave-side, military service on Tuesday, May 26th, 10AM, at Millville Cemetery, Millville, NY, east of Medina, on Route 31A. COL Larry Feasel will preside over the ceremony. Following the ceremony join George's family, and friends at Tillman's Village Inn, at the intersection of Routes 104 and 98.
