Obituary of Frances Gearing

Spencerport: Friday, April 24, 2015. Went to be with the Lord at the age of 96. Survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas M. Tongue, Sr. (Linda Lord), Lockport, IL; Ronald and DeeDee Tongue, Sr., Cortland, NY; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Bruce Thomas, Spencerport, NY; Marilyn and William Houck, Brockport, NY; grandchildren, Thomas (Connie)Tongue, Jr.; Jeffery (Elizabeth Krog)Tongue; Kathryn Tongue; Brenda (Todd) Bauch; Julie (Kenny) Tully; Brian (Sheila) Thomas; Kevin Houck; Timothy (Sarah) Houck; Ronald Tongue, Jr. (fiancée, Gina Gatti); Benjamin (Erin) Tongue; Alexander (Aimee) Tongue; great-grandchildren; Nathan, Cayla, Andre, Ashley, Emily, Eliot, Cody, Christy, and Matthew Tongue; Morgan and Paige Bauch; Kassidy Tully; Emily Holland, Jacob DiSanto, Joseph Murtaugh, three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Clark and Mary Johnston, Horseheads, NY; Loretta Lynch, Mesa, AZ; and Margaret (Thomas) Elliott, Watkins Glen, NY; stepchildren; Diane (William) Odel, Dunkirk, NY and Harold Gearing, Omaha, NE; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edgar M. Tongue in 1990 and Stanley F. Gearing in 2005; her parents James and Catherine (Pawlak) MacBlane; seven siblings Fran was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was an avid baker, excellent cook, gardener, bowler and square dancer and a member of Parma Baptist Church for 66 years. She was loved by all who knew her for her sweet disposition, smile and her kindness towards everyone. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Calling hours for Fran will be Friday, May 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Walker Brothers Funeral Home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY. Her celebration of life service will be Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Parma Baptist "Community" Church, Pastor Mark Dibelka officiating. Interment, Parma Corners Cemetery.
