Obituary of Grace Howe
Scottsville: Grace Wilson Howe, 93, went home to be with Jesus on December 10, 2013. She was predeceased by her husbands, Monice Wilson & Clarence Howe; grandson, Phillip Michael Young. Grace is survived by her children, James (Mary) E. Wilson of NC & Cheryln (Fay) Dick-Gotham; grandchildren, Frank (Mary) Wilson, Jennifer (Brian) Mapes, Eric (Erika) Young, Jennifer (John) Heneghan & Jessica (Matt) Rapp; eleven great-grandchildren. Grace was a woman of great faith, full of kindness & generosity.
Grace's visitation will be held 4-7 PM on Thursday at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Ln (between Rte 390 & Long Pond Rd) Her funeral service will be celebrated 11AM on Friday at Park Ridge Free Methodist Church, 10 Straub Rd (at the corner of Long Pond Rd). Interment on Sunday, December 15th at 2 PM in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Beckley WV. Donations may be sent to Free Methodist World Missions, 770 North High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46214 in Grace's memory.
Grace was born in West Virginia. Her mother died when she was very young, so she and her three brothers were raised in an orphanage in Intercession City, FL. She later moved back to WV to live with her older sister. She met her husband, Monice, and they were married in 1938.
Grace loved to play the piano and sing. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and was a lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school and was also a fitness instructor with Tri-W.
Family and friends would best describe Grace as a woman of faith who was generous, loving and compassionate. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she has touched.
