Obituary of Thomas E. Caufield

July 23, 2013. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas & Marcella Caufield. Thomas is survived by his children, Mary A. Caufield, Christopher (Jenelle) Caufield; fiancé, Krystal Shaver; former wife and friend, Barbara Weegar; brother, James (Catie McDonnell) Caufield; sisters, Maureen (Dave) Rockell, Kathleen "KC" Eckerd; granddaughters, Paige & Peyton. Thomas's visitation will be 4-7 PM on Monday at the funeral home, 15 West Ave, Spencerport with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM. Interment at the convenience of the family. Thomas was born April 25, 1957 in Rochester, NY to Thomas & Marcella and grew up with 3 sibilings in Churchville, NY. As a kid, he used to like to pretend to be Superman. He also enjoyed fishing, playing music, talking and listening. He was always an all-around people guy. As a teen, he taught himself to play guitar and bass. He never had a lesson. After graduation from high school, Thomas took some college courses, played in multiple bands and was a fireman for the Spencerport Fire Department. He later played for a short time for Kelly Pickler, then Steve Azar in Nashville. Thomas was previously married to Barbara Weegar with whom he remained close, and was more recently engaged to Krystal Shaver who he met in 1991 and has loved ever since. More than anything, he loved his daughter and granddaughter. Every holiday and event was extremely important to Thomas, especially the births of his children and granddaughters. He frequently liked to "rest his eyes" as well. In his spare time, he played with the Rochester Bass Masters, enjoyed fishing and anything to do with music and family. Some of Thomas's favorite sayings were "actions speak louder than words", "I'm the adult, you're the child", and "no one gets out of this world alive". Some of his favorites included the "ID" channel, movies such as Backdraft, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Dumb & Dumber, and The Notebook. He liked the comedy of Jeff Dunham and Blue Collar Comedy, and he loved to tell jokes and laugh. Thomas always like to make others feel comfortable. He was very, very passionate about feelings whether they were loving, heart-felt, or NOT! Thomas would do anything for anyone at any time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
