Obituary of Sylvia Zipeto

March 31, 2013. Predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Zipeto. Survived by her husband, Elmer "Zip" W. Zipeto; children, Tony (Nancy) Zipeto, Stephen Zipeto; grandchildren, Monique Santiago, Benjamin Zipeto, Oliver Zipeto; brothers, Harry Bauman, Sylvester (Vicky) Bauman, Jr, Gene Bauman, Jack (Wanda) Bauman, Reagan Bauman; sisters, Marella (Sam) Gingrich, Anna Shearer; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Calling hours will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY 14559. Sylvia's funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha St, Spencerport, NY. Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hildebrandt Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623 in Sylvia's memory. Sylvia was born in Lock Haven, PA to Sylvester and Alma Bauman. She was a high school cheerleader. She met Elmer through friends and they were married in 1963 in Sacred Heart Cathedral. July 13th would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. She often volunteered over the years at Spencerport Bowling and the Junior Program. She was the one who kept family traditions alive, such as at Christmas and Easter. Some of her hobbies included bowling, reading and bingo. She enjoyed all types of movies and Danielle Steele novels. Sylvia's family and friends would best describe her as the matriarch, strong, outgoing, helpful to others, having a great sense of humor, and attractive. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
