Obituary of Gregory Pelletier
Rochester: At the age of 39, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father, Dennis A. Pelletier. Survived by the loves of his life, wife Lisa & son Mason; mother, Renee A. Pelletier; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Mary Ann & John E. Collins; sister, Nicole R. (Brian) Fedele; grandmother, Doris Liebler; brother-in-law, Jason S. (Ana) Collins; loving nieces & nephews, Luc, Livia, Isabella & Lucas; many aunts, uncles, cousins & close friends.
Greg was a graduate of Aquinas Institute & Canisius College. During this time he played football, basketball & track. Greg met the love of his life, his wife while teaching at Wayne High School. She was also a teacher and they shared a class room, their relationship blossomed while educating children. Greg & Lisa were married on July 4, 1998, which is Greg's favorite holiday. He was a teacher & football coach at Brockport High School. He loved history, this brought him to teach European Studies. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, Greg was fond of his honeymoon in Greece and a family trip to London. Greg's hobbies included playing sports and he loved reading. He was a Detroit Tigers fan and he passed that on to his son, Mason. Another sports related activity he participated in was fantasy sports. Greg was fond of coaching his son's baseball & basketball teams. Greg was fun loving, loyal, kind, honest and very competitive. Lisa and Greg enjoyed sparring in games such as Jeopardy. He related to everyone, all who were in his company felt welcomed. Throughout his illness, he was a real inspiration- particularly to the players that he coached. Greg will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, his humor and a smile that would light up a room.
Greg's Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 150 Varinna Drive in Brighton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642 in Greg's memory.
