Born to the Parents of Robert and Elizabeth, on December 10, 1945 in Rochester, N.Y.. Living on Taylor St. with his brothers and sisters, Robert, Ronald, Terry, Larry, Susan, and Barbara until he was ten. The family then built the house he currently lived in.
As a young man at the age of 16 or 17 he got his first bear while hunting.
He attended MCC and RIT after highschool.
While in the United States Air Force he was stationed in Texas as a motor pool driver. After the military he was employed as a land surveyor with Larson Engineers. He then became an inspector for the Monroe County Water Authority in 1994, he remained at the water authority until his retirement as Sr. Field Inspector on December 11, 2010.
Dalton New York was the favorite hunting and fishing spot for him and his brothers. He found great joy in fishing at the cottage with his kids, and then his grandchildren and his wife who never baited a hook or took a fish off the hook. His children were a very important part of his life and he was involved in their interests. He was involved in Cub Scouts and the Color Guard, supporting the children he loved so much.
He met his wife Pat at a Cub Scout Den meeting, she was the Den Mother. They were married with a simple ceremony at the town hall. Their blended families consisted of 6 children, Patty, Craig, Tim, Cory,Julie and Jennifer. He also had 9 grandchildren, Lexi, Chase, CJ, Cassidy, Hannah, Carter, Nathan, Daniel and Cash. "Papa", as he was affectionately referred to, will be missed by all of his children and grandchildren. He adored them as much as they adored him. Along with his children and grandchildren he also had several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, who will also miss their uncle.
The holidays were for the children and very busy with multiple gatherings throughout the seasons. He didn't mind this at all because the smiling faces were the best present he could have received. He liked to travel, reaching destinations such as Jamaica, Nassau, Florida, Washington and North Carolina. Although he made all those destinations his dream was to take an Alaskan cruise.
Some of his other activities along with hunting and fishing with his family, were his vegetable garden and drawing pictures on cards for the grandchildren. When he was not hunting fishing or drawing, he was watching the TV. Deadliest Catch was one of his favorite shows, which gave him a favorite quote, "I'm a poet but don't know it, my feet show it, because they are Longfellows". He also enjoyed cooking, he was the family sous chef. His most sought after dish was his homemade German potato salad
Although being a bit of a "worry wart", he could strike up a conversation about anything at anyplace and anytime. He had the gift of gab and loved to share his gift with those who would listen. No matter what the conversation he had a knack for getting others to laugh, with his wit and sense of humor. He was a "big ole teddy bear", who was a kind caring man who brought a smile to so many people's lives.
