Obituary of Marcia Heffron

Wednesday September 28, 2011 at the age of 77. She was a mother of four, wife, grandmother, aunt, hugely loyal Yankees fan, softball playing, air plane jumping, hot air balloon loving progressive woman. Marcia was born on November 10, 1933 in Rochester, NY. A 1954 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School, she went on to work for Rochester Telephone, where she met her husband, Bill Heffron, moved to Spencerport and lived the remainder of her active life. Marcia also worked for the Rochester School for the Deaf from 1976-1996. Marcia is survived by her husband Bill, sons Dick, Jamie and David, daughter Maryblaise and her 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Marcia was an amazing woman who walked to her own beat, breaking traditionally held stereotypes and encouraging her children to do the same. Marcia's visitation will be held 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY 14559. Marcia's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha Street, Spencerport.
