what an earnest Christ-lover. Loving Him directly, and personally via his love of Linda, family, friends and others. Miracle Marv too: the man who beat cancer and the skepticism of the doctor(s) who treated him. See you Marv fully restored, and much more than that, in the New Heaven and Earth to come. Love in Christ, pg

Having Marv in our family for 48+ years has been a great joy. From the very first day he joined our family I placed him in the role of a big brother. I cherish the memories. He will be missed by all.

Too many words/feelings of love and friendship that I can't seem to assemble them. Marvin was special in so many ways [as you already know] He had his hobbies and skills for sure [cars, guitars, trains, carpentry] His passion though was loving his family and making sure everything was what it should be, (or could be). Marvin would want you to know that (like Jesus) He values your friendship more than His own life. Marvin loved and was loved.

Dear Linda, Craig & Mike, Growing up across the street from your family was just a great experience. From playing the game of Life in front of your wood stove, to swapping out our bikes' parts to make the one ultimate ride, to hanging at CYC - your Dad was always there to support and guide us. And somehow, he endured all of our shenanigans. Now I find myself teaching - following in the footsteps of both of our fathers. I hope that I will continue to be as dedicated to my students as Mr. Deats was to us. I am honored to have known him, and blessed to have had him as a role model. I am so very sorry for your loss, but know that his strength and love will live on in all of you. All of my best at this most difficult time. Love Always, Diana

Marv, was a great english treacher. I enjoyed his classes and gave him most of his grey hair. Today our church is performing a play that I have written, entitled The Certurion, in honor of my teacher, who inspired me to write Christian plays. This is my 11th play.
