Brown, Jean Elizabeth (Bechtold)
Spencerport: Passed away Monday April 18, 2011 at the age of 75, after a brief illness. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. Brown "Brownie", her sisters Viola and Geraldine, her brothers Floyd and Raymond. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Terry (Bob Sadler) Hancock; loving son, Christian (Anne) Marks; adored step-children, Terry (Lela Ladd) Brown, David (Joan) Brown, Cheryl (Larry) Barbeto; 8 grandchildren, Shawn Wilkinson, Brandy Hancock, Cassandra, Cara, Catherine and Connor Marks, Jason and Jodie Brown, Timothy, Thomas and Peter Barbeto, Delia, Noah, Ralph Brown and Cortney Kidd; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was born in Spencerport and the youngest of six children and grew up on Manitou Road. Jean married young and raised two children. She then began her working career at Bausch and Lomb and eventually retired with over 18 years at Rochester Products.
Jean married the love of her life, Edward Brown "Brownie" in December of 1974. They spent 23 wonderful years traveling widely and entertaining their extensive family. She and Brownie were constant companions until his death in 1997. Jean continued spending her time traveling with friends and family. Card games and outings with her grandchildren and she was always ready to shop and have lunch with her step-daughters. Jean was a wonderful mother, devoted grandmother and great grandmother and a warm and gracious friend to others.
With Jean's passing, her and her loving Brownie shall meet again. They will continue their travels throughout eternity with love they shared in their hearts once again.
The family would like to say Thank You to all the Staff at Hildebrandt Hospice for the care Jean received during her brief stay.
Jean's visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Funeral Home, 15 West Avenue Spencerport, NY 14559, where her Funeral Service will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00AM. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. Those wishing to send expressions of sympathy please consider the Aurora House in Spencerport, NY or the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, NY in the memory of Jean.
