Obituary of Francis Bonnewell
Frank passed away on Tuesday July 31, 2012. He was born on February 14, 1930 in Rochester NY to William and Fanny Bonnewell. He went to St. Michael's School. He had three brothers Charles, Richard, and Fred. He had two sisters Rose and Marian. When he was a young boy his dog fell into the river gorge, the fire department lowered him by rope down into the gorge and he rescued the dog. He got his picture in the newspaper. When he was a young man he joined the Navel Air Reserves in Niagara Falls NY. He worked for Eastman Kodak for 40 years in Roll coating. Frank married Mariana Corcoran, the love of his life, on June 16, 1956. They had two daughters Debra and Lori. They lived in Spencerport since 1961. Frank loved gardening, he was also known for building air planes from pop cans and donating them to nursing homes. Frank also loved wood working he made trains, furniture, and a few rocking horses for his favorite friends. He had four grandchildren who he adored, William and Robert, Devin and April. He was very happy that he was able to attend his grand daughter's wedding in July 2011. Despite some health problems he was able to enjoy a long retirement, spending many winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Frank will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. Every day he taught and lived by the golden rule.
Frank's Visitation will be held on Monday August 6th from 2 PM - 4PM and 7PM - 9PM at Walker Brothers Funeral Home located at 15 West Ave. Spencerport, NY 14559. Frank's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 7th at St John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha Street in Spencerport.
