Obituary of Betty Barton

Sunday November 25, 2012 at the age of 82. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Harold Way and Abby Learn. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jerry M. Barton; her children, Joyce A. Barton and Steven G. (Nancy) Barton; grandchildren, Paul M. (Deborah) Wagner, Stacy Lyn (Timothy) Judd and Jeffrey Teike, Michael S. Barton, Randall W. (Jinny) Barton, and Adam D. Barton; great-grandchildren, Chelssie, Matthew, Michael, Ryan, Lexy, Jace and Shelby; her sisters, Harriett Bartlett, Carol (James) Jackson, Kathryn Ferguson and Dr. Pamela (John) Kissel; many nieces and nephews. When Betty was younger, she worked on her family's farm, and raised her family. She was the Secretary Treasurer of Gerald Barton Inc., and Don Berle's Service Station. Betty was also the Treasurer for Rochester Women's Bowling Association for 19 years and later became inducted into the Rochester Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. Most of Betty's enjoyment in life were her hobbies and interests and those being auto racing, knitting, crocheting, doing latch hook rugs and playing the organ for her church. She loved playing the piano and listening to organ music. Betty's friends were Dick and Shirley Frew, Monnie and Jerry Webster and several of the people she bowled with. Betty's favorite family functions were the Burdett reunions, Christmas gatherings and anniversaries. Betty was most passionate about being on the Pastoral Selection Committee for the Churchville Union Congregational Church. The best way to describe Betty is that she was kind and generous. She was helpful, loving and thoughtful; she was fun loving and care giving. Betty will be missed. Betty's Visitation will be held 4-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY 14559. Betty's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday at the Union Congregational UCC, 14 N. Main Street, Churchville, NY 14428. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery.
