Obituary of Nellie Vandertang

Spencerport: Nellie died peacefully October 7, 2011 at the age of 87. Nellie is predeceased by her husband Adrian Vandertang; son Thomas Vandertang. She is survived by her children, Judy (Gary) Gartz & William (Alison) Vandertang; daughter-in-law Sheila (Dave) Wohlers; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Gladys Stenzel; several nieces & nephews; dog Shelby. Nellie owned and operated the Village Shoe Store in Spencerport with her husband Adrian. Special thanks to the staff at Seabury Woods and the staff at the Episcopal Church Home for the loving care they gave Nellie. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday 10 AM at Ogden Presbyterian Church, followed by her burial in Fairfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Ogden Presbyterian Church, 2400 S. Union St., Spencerport, NY 14559 in Nellie's memory. Nellie's family was very important to her. She enjoyed the holidays with them. She always needed to be busy. She was a nice lady, well liked, very active and social. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, cooking, gardening, flowers and crocheting. She did extensive traveling to China, Europe, Burma and India.
