Baker, Robert R. "Bob"
Spencerport NY: January 26, 2013 at the age of 72, after a battle with Emphysema & COPD. Predeceased by his parents, Ralph & Marie Baker. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne (Waite) Baker; daughter, Kimberly (Phil); sons, Erik (Andrea), Timothy (Christine), Raynan, Danny (Ellen), Michael & Zachary; brother, Philip Baker; sister, Diane (Dave) Halloway & Barbara; sister-in-law Marge (Jim) Geary; grandson, Dominic; many nieces & nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held 12 Noon - 3 PM on Saturday at the Senator's Mansion, 99 South Main St., Churchville, NY 14428. A time of remembrance will take place at 1:30 PM. Donations may be sent to the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Ave, Rochester NY 14620 in Bob's memory.
Bob was born in Rochester, NY on December 5th, 1940, son of Ralph & Marie (Bauman) Baker. His family also lived in Cape Vincent & Spencerport while he was growing up. The family home could be found on Ogden Parma Town Line Road. During his young adult life, Bob worked on the Kaiser farm in Chili. Later on he was the Head Mechanic at the Town of Ogden Highway Department, upon retiring he was a school aid for seven years- kids called him Bob; he preferred not to be called Mr. Baker. Bob met Jeanne in 1959, they were married on January 29, 1960. Bob & Jeanne have seven adopted children; he was much the father to them and devoted to them all. This love was displayed with tattoos representing each of them. He loved his dogs Sierra, Blizzard & Buster. Bob enjoyed his John Deer tractor, racing at Limerock Speedway and most importantly Christmas. He will be remembered for his humor and his take charge tendencies.
