Obituary of Marjorie J. Maas

Marjorie (Anderson) Maas, from Churchville, NY gained her angel wings on January 6, 2024. She was 89.

Marge is predeceased by her parents, Norma and Dwight Val; husbands, James Anderson and Donald Maas; daughter, June Becker; sister, Shirley Frew; and brother-in-law, Dick Frew.

She was an amazing mother, a loving grandmother, a caring great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. She cherished her family and friends more than anything. Right up until her final conversation she would recount and laugh about all of the good times she had with her closest friends over the years….a gift she shared with many.

Marge is survived by her furry-friend, Callie; daughters, Cheri, Shelly (Todd); six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Marge had a number of talents and a variety of interests. She enjoyed painting and sold her creations at craft shows with her husband, Jim. She was a talented piano player, and played many years at the Johnson House in Churchville. She was an organist at several local churches, and played for many high school musicals. She was a fiercely loyal Syracuse Orangemen fan and loved to watch boxing matches. Marge also enjoyed birdwatching and welcomed all creatures of nature to her window for a snack. She was an excellent cook, an even better baker, and had a knack for home decor. Her candid personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
