Richard P. “Dick” Davie
Richard Perry “Dick” Davie (95) of Brockport, NY passed away on January 7, 2024. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Della; and sister Betty Jane Meade. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Mary Ellen Davie; his children, Robert Davie (Donna), Douglas Davie (Ann), Brian Davie (Leslie), John Davie, and Anne Davie Slattery; his grandchildren, Wendy, Emily, Carolyn, Karen, Andrew, Kimberly, Alex, Nicole, Derek, Shannon, Gavin, and Liam; and 11 great grandchildren.
Dick was born March 4, 1928 in Bellerose, NY (Nassau County). He was a veteran who volunteered and served in the Army Corps of Engineers for two years before attending RPI in Troy, NY receiving his BS in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the ATO fraternity. Dick met Mary Ellen Falter (Russell Sage) while attending RPI. They were married on October 12, 1952 and moved to the Rochester area spending most of their years in Spencerport.
Dick worked at Kodak for 35 years, mainly in the paper mill, and was an avid sailor and member of Brockport Yacht Club for many years. In his retirement years Dick enjoyed making wine, wood working, genealogy, and was a member of the Ogden Conservation Board. A memorial service is scheduled at St. John’s Church in Spencerport, NY on April 20, 2024 at 10 am.
