I was 12 years old when I entered Ms. Ruck's science class in the Churchville-Chili Jr High School in 1964. So excited because my older sister had already given her rave reviews. And Ms. Ruck did not disappoint. I remember her as calm, cool, and confident. If she was ever stern, that didn't make it to my memory banks. She never talked down to her students but spoke to us as if we were actually worthy of respect. I feel sadness at her passing and remember her with fondness. My deepest sympathies to Bonnie Pagel and the rest of Janet's family.

My sincere condolences to Miss Ruck's family. She taught me a lot about science in 7th grade. The CCCS class of 1970 remembers her fondly.

Condolences to Jan’s family. Jan was a mentor to me as a young and new teacher in 1985. She had a kind and patient way and was very fair and caring. I will never forget her. I was a better teacher thanks to her. Her memory is a blessing.
