Obituary of Peter C. Neidrauer
Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023, surrounded by family, at age 79. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; sons, Denis (Elizabeth), Steven (Danielle); daughter, Karen (Joel); Grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Rosenberg, Zachary DeGroat, Michael (Mikey) Neidrauer and Emma White; sisters, Patricia (Jeff) and Elizabeth Meacham; sister-in-law, Sharon Landcastle; brother-in-law, Michael Kenna, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is predeceased by his loving Grandmother Bessie Reed, Aunt Esther and Mother Ruth Wallace.
Peter was born on July 28, 1943 in Buffalo, lived his childhood in Warsaw and after marrying Nancy Kenna, moved to Churchville where he was very involved with the community for 57 years. He worked at Eastman Kodak for 32 years. After retirement he joined his friend Mike in his business, Custom Wood Products before becoming Town of Riga Highway Superintendent for 5 years. He loved working with wood, building furniture and making lots of sawdust! He was a true volunteer helping others; Boy Scout leader, teaching young boys how to camp, canoe, raft, fish and develop life skills and good citizens. He was a member of the Churchville Lions Club for 38 years and went on to be the Genesee Valley District Governor. Along his journey of life, he traveled extenisvely across the US (50 states) and Canada, Europe and Asia. He and Nancy worked for several years with Habitat for Humanity, enjoying warmer weather in the south. When home he loved gardening, primitive camping in the Adirondack mountains. Fishing, canoeing and hiking. Peter could be seen walking Palmer Rd. for many years trying to maintain his strength due to Parkinson’s. He joined Wellness 360 Boxing exercise several years ago. Parkinson’s finally won the race but he won the trophy of peace after 12 years.
You are invited to join the family at Walker Brothers Funeral Home, 21 S Main St, Churchville, NY 14428, on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4 PM to 7 PM. Mass will be celebrated on August 5, 2023, 10 AM at St. Martin De Porres Parish at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 11 South Main St., Churchville, NY 14428. Interment at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall.
