Obituary of Ann Vida Schwalm (Hobson)
Churchville: Ann passed away peacefully on September 19, 2022, at 96 years old after a full and active life. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Francis Schwalm; siblings, William Hobson, Grace Adelman, and Ernest Hobson and son-in-law Leonard Hall.
She is survived by 9 children, Vida (Frank Badge) Johnston, Lynn Hall, Andrea (David) Smith, Sharon (Edward) Donovan, Francis (Sharon) Schwalm, Maldwyn Schwalm, Timothy (Nancy) Schwalm, Deborah (Michael) Grasso, and Eric Schwalm; 35 grandchildren, an ever-growing number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on May 13, 1926, to Ernest and Eva Hobson, she proudly became a US Citizen on May 9, 1989. Ann retired from Chili Plastics in 2000 after 30 years as both a machine operator and Quality Control Inspector.
In addition to cherishing time and visits with family, Ann loved to be active. She had a passion for golf, bowling, gardening, and walking. You could hear her say “You have to keep moving.” She also enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, crocheting, cross stitch, and reading.
Who will ever forget her love of the color purple and hummingbirds?
