LaVerne (Vern) Packard - After running into you several times at the Chili Wegmans I wasn't aware you had relocated to the south. Then I find out that you have left us. My memories are of Argo Park where I lived at 128 and you were a half a dozen houses down the street. I remember our campouts in your backyard. Playing army in the woods. Hide and Go Seek almost every evening when the streetlights came on. Skateboarding up and down the street and in the Dupont lot. Walking up to Christoff's (sp) to grab an ice cream or some candy. Such great memories my dear friend. I wish you the best on your new journey and hope to catch up with you one day.

My sincere condolences to you Sandy and your Family. From the first time Lynn and I met Don, we could tell he was a great guy. He has given you all wonderful memories of a life well lived. I found some old High School Prom pictures with this one the day after when we were all enjoying hanging out with friends.

My favorite memory of Don was when I had to write a paper on what makes a marriage last. Sandy and Don were the first people who came to mind for this assignment. I admired their relationship. Don and Sandy were so gracious and honest with me and gave me such amazing advice. The true love was such a gift that is evident to all who get to be around them. I am so grateful for that. . I have treasured those words and passed them along to my daughter and others. The number of lives that have been blessed is beyond measure. I love you guys and I’m praying for you.

My memories of you and Don go back to the 70's. Halloween parties at Barb & Dave's house on Lakeview Park. I hope these pictures bring a smile to your face as they did mine. We never forget "olde friends". May Don rest in peace. God Bless you and your family.

Don and I were lifelong friends. From grade school till his death. We had a conversation a few months ago about how as we got older the thing that made us the happiest was our legacy, our children and grandchildren. And on the down side the more family and friends we buried. I think both of us said at the same time “it is what it is”. I look back and think about the conversation now and I’m at a loss, I find it hard to believe. I know his death hurts anyone and everyone who was fortunate enough to have had Don in their lives. I pray that as God welcomes him to his heavenly home he also helps ease the pain that Don’s family, Sandy, Bill & Shelly, Sarah & Chris, the grandkids and rest of his family are going through.
RIP Don you will be missed.

Don will be greatly missed by many. I had the honor to work with Don for almost 3o years. He commonly called me "the pup" due to me being one of the youngest guys there.
Don was one a few guys in our department that would orchestrate many of the after hour activities (bowling leagues and tournaments, golf leagues and tournaments, etc). Because of him, he helped turn our department into a tightly knit, well oiled machine that became "family". We were there for weddings, child birth, graduations, divorces, and family losses.
Thank you Don! Rest in peace!

I have so many wonderful memories of this special man. My second father and an influence on the woman I became. He reminded me of my worth when a boy would break my heart. He would encourage/coach me on and off the soccer field. He defended us (Sarah and I) from boys with un-wanting eyes. He reminded us all in every moment how much he loved his family. Screaming "Go Sarah-Jean!" on the sidelines and didn't stop those cheers throughout Sarah's life. We all bore witness to Daddy's love of his little girl. I feel so very lucky. Lucky to have known him, received his support, love and lucky to call him Dad for my entire life. I will miss him, but I will never guess at how he felt about our relationship. He loved me and my family (despite the fact that I married an Italian...lol). I love him and love you all. My happy memories carry me through while tears stream down my face. So much love of such a great man.
