Obituary of Dominic P. DiVincenzo MD
Passed away February 27, 2022, at age 89. Born in Rochester, NY June 29, 1932. He graduated from East High (1950) and the University of Rochester (with both Undergraduate (1954) and Medical School (1958). He served 2 years as an Army MD before locating in Spencerport NY, in 1961, to start a Family Medical Practice that ultimately included Dr Michael Mazza and his brother Dr. Michael DiVincenzo. Sadly, Doctor D was forced to give up his medical practice in 1990 due to debilitating back problems. He was later, however, able to assist first his wife, Barbara, then his son Tom in managing St John’s Religious Shop and Bookstore (currently Divine Mercy Religious Shop Ministries) in Spencerport for many years until the start of Covid 19.
Dominic was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary DiVincenzo, his brother Michael and his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Patricia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Barbara; his children Joe (Rosie), Tom, Anne Martin, and David (Kelli); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Arlene and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 11th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 15 West Ave., Spencerport, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 12th, at 1:00 pm, at St John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha St, Spencerport, NY. This Mass will be live-streamed and can be viewed by going to https://www.stjohnschurchspencerport.org/ and clicking on the LIVE STREAM MASS box.
