Roger was one of my most favorite people. Well maybe not when we first met. He was a bit intimidating to a little kindergartener!
Needless to say we reconnected many years later and he made me much less nervous. Our visits usually started with him saying something snarky or sharing a rather random joke. They ended with a story or a few words of wisdom and a hug. He really should have written a book!
He went to the Spencerport Fireman's carnival way more than I ever did and would quiz me on all the former students he would meet up with.
Did I know this person or that person. He remembered them all. I don't always remember the people I graduated with!
I consider myself quite lucky to have known him...and not just because he was Santa. He was one of a kind and I'm going to miss him.

Roger will be sorely missed. His sense of humor and wit, experience paired with knowledge, and his sparkle will be what I remember most. I am so glad
I had the opportunity to know and serve with him.

To the Ressman and Sahrle families,
Words will never fill the hole in your hearts that remain. Hugs will never ease that pain. So hold on to those memories. For forever they'll remain.
With love and sympathies,

Dear Ressman family and Spencerport community, I send my deepest sympathy. I tutored students for Spencerport that Roger would send me to while he was PPS director. He really cared about kids. He really cared about people. You had a great Dad. He is with his Heavenly Father now.

Roger had an enduring personality, was a loyal and generous friend, and a good man. I had lunch with him two weeks ago - what a gift! He was preparing to write a sermon for last Sunday's service. Heard some of his life stories he has told for years and still enjoyed each of them, especially how he met Barb! They both volunteered for our golf tournament for the last four years. They will both be missed and our hearts are broken...rest in peace.

I will always treasure working with Roger on the Finance Committee and getting to know him and Barbara at the church. They will both be terribly missed.
