Obituary of Thomas H. Prevost
Tom passed away at home on May 3, 2021 at the age 75 in Rochester, NY after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Howard Prevost and Jeanne (Ebert) Prevost. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Byrne) Prevost; daughters, Tracy (Cheng Ning) Jong, Kim (Eddie) Lewis; grandchildren, Hunter Gill, Courtney Gill, Justin Lewis, Jessica Jong, Ryan Jong, Melissa Jong; siblings, Roxanne (Tom) Williams, Charlie (June) Prevost, Bonnie Prevost-Limoges, Mary Jane Humphrey, Ruth (Michael) Halloran, and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born in Hinkley, NY and returned to the Adirondacks in retirement, where he built the log cabin he and his wife enjoyed for the past 2 decades on Fifth Lake. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and scenic photography. He was a graduate of University of Rochester and worked as an analytical chemist at Eastman Kodak Company until he retired. He was a patented inventor during his career.
A private funeral mass will be held May 20, 2021, 11:00 am at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 11 North Main Street in Churchville, NY.
