Dear Doug, Although we only met a few times I'll always remember your dear wife, Diane as a very lovely yet fun-loving person. We all had such a good time the day she came to Scranton and rode the trolley. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of deep sorrow. Sincerely, Jim Kosydar

Dear Doug and Family,
"Dyan" was such a special person and we will sorely miss her. Though our friendship only began about 10 years ago, we enjoyed many good times together during those years. She considered me, Kehaulani, to be a "LEO" buddy because we had close birth dates, the same astrological sign of the lion, and some similar traits. It was well known that she loved the color purple and many things in her life were that color...clothes, jewelry, etc. We enjoyed dining out and good conversation.
We loved seeing her beaming smile at Saint Vincent de Paul Church as she sat in the pew in front of us. We were in the same Liturgical Minister Group. She shared much of her time and talent helping our church in various ways. She was a catechist for many years and loved teaching the children about our faith. She was a Communion Minister and even rang bells in the Musical Bell Group.
Dyan, your contributions were many...wife, siser, aunt, teacher, helper, volunteer, etc...but the most meaningful to us...FRIEND!
Me Ke Aloha Pumehana (with warmest Love)
Kehaulani and Richard Vigilante

Dear Doug -- The DCHS Class of 1958 has lost a "shining star" and will miss Dyan's vibrant smile and constant enthusiasm! Indeed, we were fortunate to have her as a friend and gift to us for so many years! Rita and I had hoped to see you today (Sunday) and give you a big Class "hug," however I had eye surgery on Friday and don't feel quite up to the trip. Please remember that The Class has officially made you an Honorary Member and you continue to be in our hearts and prayers.
Our love,
Ken/Rita Stanley

So so sad to hear of your dear wife Dyan passing on to be with the Lord. I was so blessed to meet her briefly at Mom Pearl's funeral. Her life was most certainly full of service, commitment and love.
I send out my love and caring to you Douglas and all of Dyan's friends and family. Know that I will be with you in spirit and thought. I pray the love of God and strength of faith will carry you all through this terrible time. With My Love, Bonnie L. Haughey St. George, Utah
