Dearest Kim, Dawn, Heidi, Dale and Bobby and families, your mother was a very special woman. She was so filled with the Holy Spirit and was out spreading the Word of God to all, until the day Jesus called her home. She was an amazing witness of who we should be in this world and how we should live for Him. At bible studies she loved to praise the Lord and give thanks to Him always. I shall remember her in singing songs with eyes closed and hands extended heavenward and now she is face to face with the living Lord. Edith had a great sense of humor and could make me laugh like no one else could and how we loved our flower shopping. She would call all hours of the night praying for people and so worried that so many people were going to hell. She lived what she believed.
I was honored to know your mother and what a blessing she was to so many. I think of her often with fondest memories and I shall never forget her. Edith made an impact on so many lives and I truly miss this dear sister in the Lord.

Matthew 25:21
"21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
Be blessed knowing that she finished the race.
It was a privilege to know her.

To the entire Barton Family,
Edith was a wonderful woman, and although we lost touch during the past few years, I have fond memories of being in the home on Amity Street with the children. She was such a loving mother, and she taught me a great deal by her kindness. With our husbands as firefighters we attended many functions; picnics with friends; and dinners together with the family. Please know that Edith and Bob will be in my prayers.
With love, Eileen Magin

To Dale, Kim, Dawn, Bob and Heidi,
My sincere sympathy to each of you. I have such wonderful memories of both of your parents, especially your Mom. She was a special lady and a great role model for all those that knew her.
I can still remember like it was yesterday the camping trips. Those were among some of my fondest memories. Your Mom loved everyone and never had an unkind word for anyone.
My only regret is that I lost contact with her and the rest of you after we moved away. But, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and each one of your families.

To the entire Barton Family you have our sincere condolences on the passing of Edie, a strong, delightful and God caring women. She brightened so many lives and had a wonderful family behind her. I was blessed to have been her friend and enjoyed many times playing games with her. She was down to earth and made all those who crossed her path feel welcome into her heart. She will be sadly missed. Knowing that she is at peace and home with Our Lord, puts a smile upon my face. She truly deserves her entrance into Heaven. Farewell to a one of a kind loving women, enjoy your rekindling reunion with your husband. It was my pleasure to have been acquainted with you. Love and prayers,

Edie lived a life embracing not only her beloved family, but so many others. No matter where she went, she was making friends, inviting them into her inner circle, and above all sharing her love of Jesus along the way. She was an 'overcomer', as she battled various medical issues, especially childhood polio, never letting anything get in the way of what she wanted to do. You led your family well Edie, and the honoring they have given to you shows clearly in the love that has surrounded you throughout the years, but especially in these past two weeks. It is a testimony to your years of giving and dedication to the Lord's ways for you. Now, you are 'dancing' the streets of Heaven in the most glorious celebration, and I can guess who is joining you!! My heart joins the family in grieving her loss, but knowing her gain!!!

Dale, Kim, Dawn, Bob & Heidi - your Mom & Dad were Chris's and my best friends growing up. We couldn't have asked for better mentors. The laughs, the advice and the love of family that your parents provided for you and those of us that got to partake in some of those experiences, was truly a wonderful way to grow up.
We're sure that right now they are both entertaining our granddaughter in the same manner and fashion that they entertained us - more than a few years ago.
They may be gone in body but they will never be gone in spirit nor memory while we inhabit this earth.
Our thoughts are with you,
Chris & Jim McKinney

Edie is right where she has wanted to be and she will be missed so much but we are rejoicing in her home going. What a SWEET, SWEET lady and her love for the Lord was beyond words. I will miss our short visits, phone calls and seeing her at the concerts. But knowing that we will see each other again is a true comfort.

Edie went to school with my Mom as well as many of my aunts and uncles. She had attended the same church as my Mom before my parents moved out of the area. She was her prayer partner for many years. I had the privilege of sitting next to her at a wedding 3 years ago. We had a delightful evening getting acquainted and my updating her about my family. She said I looked and sounded so much like my mother she kept referring to me by my mother's first name all night. She was truly a woman of faith and now is reunited with Our Heavenly Father.
