Obituary of Verner J. Bruton
Verne died peacefully at Leroy Village Green on November 16, 2020 in Leroy, NY, at the age of 93.
He was born in Churchville, NY on May 23, 1927, and resided with his parents Mr. & Mrs. John Verner Bruton, his sister Judy and his brother Charles. He graduated from Churchville High School in 1945.
Verne was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corp. and served in WWII from 1945-1947. Verne worked at Eastman Kodak for 35 years. He attended St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Verne and his wife Anita had a summer home at the Thousand Islands before retiring to Florida in 1992. Verne is predeceased by his wife of 64 years Anita Bruton. Survived by his children, John (Mary), Dawn (Bruce) and Kevin (Debbie); 4 grandsons; 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; brother, Charles Bruton and his sister, Judy Hellems.
Verne’s visitation will be on Friday, November 20th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home, 15 West Ave. Spencerport. A service will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 10:00 am also at the funeral home.
Interment in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leroy Village Green Sunshine Fund in Verne’s memory.
