I am a childhood friend of Sue's when she lived on Trimmer & I lived on Ridge Road. First: My deepest sympathy at the loss of your dear mother, however she needed to be released from her restricted body. We continued through life as Sue created the Christmas cards and letters she sent enclosed with those cards. No matter out sick she was she always kept in contact. I live in Southern California and once lived in Beverly Hills. Sue visited my husband and I there. At the time she was a nurse and the only English speaking person in a Japanese hospital in Hawaii. I would visit her on my trips back home either at where she was living or at a high school reunion. I got to meet John a couple of times, as well. Also sorry John has lost his Sue. I got progress reports of all of her children whenever we communicated. A proud mother who never gave into her illness or gave up. I loved that special grin she had. While Sue's suffering is finished, your loss is not. Remember the good advice she gave each of you children and live in a positive way she would have expected and wanted. Keep making her proud.
I will welcome contact from any of you children (of course grown at this point). You will have my email with this write-up. I heard about Sue's last fight from another Trimmer Road and childhood friend of ours, Hilda Schmidt. I know she visited Sue often at the Aurora House and said it was a great place for Sue to spend her last days in.
