Obituary of Gregory Loomis

Churchville: August 17, 1948-August 10, 2014. Age 65. Gregory passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He is survived by Elaine, his loving wife of 38 years, three children; Rebecca (Benjamin), Joseph (Kelly) and Elizabeth (Timothy), grandchildren; Benjamin, Zachary, Alyssa, Alexis and Karly, his mother, Arline, siblings; Barbara (Fred), JoAnne (Michael), Gary (Cindy), Kathryn (Jim) and Carolyn, sister-in-laws; Cheryl (Fred) and Mary Jo and an aunt, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by his father, Grant Loomis. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life memorial on Saturday August 16, 2014, 6pm at Open Door Baptist Church (350 Chili-Scottsville Road, Churchville, NY). In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Gregory was a graduate of MCC and a US Navy veteran. He worked at General Railway Signals, now Alstom, for nearly 30 years. His hobbies included tinkering in his workshop, custom woodworking, hunting, hiking and being outdoors enjoying nature. He will always be remembered for his character, strength, humor, compassion and love for his family.
