Obituary of Daniel DeVault
Daniel was born on Jun 19, 1949 in Yakima, WA and grew up on the town of Murray. As a boy, he liked to camp at Piseco Lake, hang out with the Triffids, and was also a Boy Scout. He attended Kendall High School and played trumpet in the Drum Corps and marching band.
Daniel was the owner of Take-A-Break Coffee Company, Black Creek Tea Company, and worked at Haines Publishing. In 1976, he married Karen whom he had met at Star Market in Greece, NY. Together they raised Danielle and Andrea and he later became a loving grandfather to Madelaine, Jacob, and Gavin.
Daniel loved taking family vacations every year and enjoyed summer bonfires. He also made a great holiday coleslaw.
Some of his hobbies included photography, and listening to records, including his favorites: Eagles, Beatles, Linda Rondstadt & Jackson Brown. He was a Buffalo Bills fan, liked canoeing on Black Creek, reading, attending the Jazz Fest, and simple walks in the park. "Hey kiddo" and "What do you want to do?" were phrases you would often hear him saying.
Family and friends would best describe Daniel as someone who was the life of the party. He was friends with everyone and was always laughing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
